Essential Functions
- Reads and interprets blueprints and machine drawings to determine specific requirements.
- Ability to operate inside seam and floor grinders.
- Ability to operate roll and shear machines.
- Ability to understand and safely operate seam welder.
- Load and unload work pieces onto equipment or work tables using overhead cranes when needed.
- Operate flex shaft, body buffer, right angles and other applicable hand tools.
- Assist in minor repair and maintain equipment, objects or parts using hand tools.
- Transfer equipment, product or parts to specified work areas using fork trucks.
Competencies
- Must be able to read a tape measure.
- Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents.
- Must be able to identify and measure material.
- Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals.
- Be able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to discern between various grinding belts.
- Basic grinding and welding skills.
- Recognize when to stop assembly and production when quality related issue(s) are present.
- Teamwork oriented.
- Good time management skills.
Equipment
Leather gloves, eye protection, dust masks, protective clothing and ear plugs, which are provided by the company.
Certifications: Forklift training certificate or the ability to obtain it.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday,
2nd Shift: 3:30 p.m. to Midnight
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
